Shaman Rises teaser chapter!

Wow, it’s only about 6 weeks until SHAMAN RISES comes out! Here! Have the first chapter!

(…but read NO DOMINION first! You can get it at Amazon, at Audible, and at B&N. :))

Oh. Crap.
You don't terribly mind if I find my way to Ireland solely to strangle you in the intervening six weeks, do you?

I thought not.

Re: Oh. Crap.
Good thing there's pretty much no way I'll be able to find myself in Ireland, then...

Re: Oh. Crap.
And now you'll have to wait in line behind the showrunners of NCIS:LA, Person of Interest, Agents of SHIELD, and Chicago Fire. They're making me wait until September for things.

And that after every single feelz in the universe at the NCIS season finale.

Re: Oh. Crap.
I'm only like 5 episodes into season 10 of NCIS. WAY behind! And we don't get to watch SHIELD until tonight. :)

Re: Oh. Crap.
I figured you were offset one way or another on the shows, (and even f you'd seen stuff, others hadn't) which is why I avoided spoilers.

SHIELD keeps up the level of awesome. If you happen to follow Ming Na Wen @MingNa (Melinda May) on twitter, she's been encouraging and retweeting repurposed Chuck Norrisisms (and some newly made-up!) Mayisms. Utterly hilarious.

Re: Oh. Crap.
Yeah, I've been reading the Mayisms. They're terrific. :)

6 weeks to dig out all the books and read from start to finish again....Doable..not sure have the energy....tonight just need wiki of story...

There's a very short summary and consequently wildly inaccurate while still trying to convey the basic thrust of each book at the front of SHAMAN RISES, fwiw. :)

Or maybe I should just organize a 6-week Walker Papers read-along? :)

Remind me: are preorders more helpful or first week purchases? Or does it not generally matter?

I am very much looking forward to the book, but I have a question I'm hoping you can answer. I may have missed it in the existing books--if so point me towards it. Or it may be a spoiler for the next book, and so you can't answer yet.

How did her mentor Coyote "find" Joann? For a while I thought her dad may have asked him to help her, but it's clear from the published books that that didn't happen. So what made him seek her out to help?

Thanks for writing such great stories!

It's in book 3, COYOTE DREAMS. Jo and her father were travelling through Nevada and they very briefly met a young Coyote, who had a shamanic moment of seeing the two paths he could take in life, and chose the one Joanne was on.
