Kitsnaps: Ducking

Ducking
Ducking

I feel terribly damned clever for snapping this shot just as the duck was, er, ducking, into the water, even though it’s pure luck and happenstance that I clicked the shutter at that very moment. :)

A wonderful case of Pareidolia - two people saw the leg as a duckling!

(And I can sort of see it, if I try, but I saw it as a standard leg and webbed foot first)

What's interesting to me is the way I'm seeing the bill changing colour from black to purple as it goes under the surface.

I almost missed the baby! Do you know what kind of duck that is?

I do not know what kind of duck it is, but I'll see if I can find out. :)

We have tentatively identified this duck as a female Northern Shoveler. :)
