Honestly, I really did not think I would get anywhere near quota. I figured I might hit 3K and I'd be satisfied with that. That would finish the chapter I had a couple hundred words on, and I thought that would be a nice get-back-in-the-saddle start.
Except I wrote like 3400 words and then, well, hell, it was only another 1600 to quota. So I ended up with 5100 words today and I am very very smug about it. Best of all, I had them written by 3pm, which is my target. (The ideal daily schedule, at this point, is stagger out of bed in order to start writing around 7am. Write til 8:30. Spend 20 minutes doing situps & other floor work & lifting weights, then eat breakfast. At 9, go back to work for another 90 minutes. Walk the dog at 10:30. Go back to work at eleven for another 90 minutes, have a 30 minute lunch break, then write for 90 minutes, until 3pm, or until 5K is reached, whatever comes last. This is less exact in real life than the target hours suggest, but it worked pretty well today.)
I walked the dog. I walked myself without the dog later. _And_ I took photos while I was out the second time, _and_ my sewing machine came today! It's been a very exciting day!
