picoreview: Snow White & the Huntsman

Picoreview: Too long by at least half an hour, but to my astonishment, Kristen Stewart was quite good in it. She emoted! And Chris Hemsworth is dreamy. And Charlize Theron is…well, you know. Charlize Theron. Raar.

Some of the effects were very pretty, some of the uses of magic were nicely done to explain a couple of things that otherwise made me go o.O, but man, I really wish they’d cut half an hour from it. My advice: don’t see it when you’re already sleepy.

So I've heard, but I didn't believe it. I'll have to watch it now, I guess. :)

I'm looking forward to that one!

I think they could have picked a couple plot points to leave out, giving more focus to some of the ones they had, and then it might not have felt so long. Maybe.

Mostly, I think they did a very good job with visual. Charlize Theron's wardrobe, especially toward the end, very much caught my attention.

Yeah, her wardrobe was magnificent. :)

There are parts of the movie that I could have cut entirely without thinking there was any loss to the storyline, yes. The scarred villagers, for example. But it was pretty!

Amen on the already sleepy part. I went to the midnight premiere and was so excited for it. And then the reel kept skipping and freezing and we ended up having to start the movie all over again on a different projector. And we'd been over forty minutes into the movie. I nearly fell asleep watching the beginning again.

Hmm - I hadn't planned seeing this one in the cinema. ::ponders::
