off to a start

Young Indiana woke up at 5 and required soothing. After a few minutes I put him back down and we all went back to bed (though I’m not sure Young Indiana ever went back to sleep). Eventually I woke up and said to Ted, “Did the alarm go off?”

And Ted said, “I turned it off.”

I said, “Are you taking a taxi to work?”

Ted said, “It’s okay. I turned it off. It’s 5 after 6.”

I said, “Are you going to work today?”

Ted said, “It’s Saturday.”

I said, “No, it’s not.”

There was a pause and Ted, sounding much more awake, said, “I guess I’m leaping out of bed and rushing to work, then.”

I’d say we’re off to a start today, for sure. :)

Ted is so accommodating of reality. Lesser men would have railed against the perverse twists of the calendar, but not Ted.

Enjoy the weekend when it comes.

I had a bad moment during his pause where I was concerned that he would argue, because I wasn't sure I had the mental faculties to prove my statement at that hour. :)

Hugs to poor Ted.

LOL! I hate when the mental calendar lies like that! Wishful thinking should totally be a justified reason for missing work!
