The Hunger Games

Have burned through the trilogy in the past 2 days. Thought CATCHING FIRE was by far the strongest, but thought MOCKINGJAY ended the whole story appropriately. Heartstabbily, but appropriately. If I get my…self…together I’ll write a more through commentary in the next few days, but my goodness, it’s been a long time since I’ve read 3 books in 2 days. (How sad is that?)

The remainder of the week will be spent focusing hard on NO DOMINION revisions. (Honest, that’s why I read two books today. I was going to put off MOCKINGJAY until I was done with revisions, but I got done reading CATCHING FIRE and said “Yeah, right, who am I kidding,” and read the last book so it would be OUT OF THE WAY.

That’s my story & I’m sticking to it. :))

the new president is much like the old president
Thought the trilogy was quite good but not a lot of detail in the world building nor how the hunger games could actually go on for 75 years.

I find your work to be more fulfilling.

Re: the new president is much like the old president
I completely agree about the worldbuilding, which was just awful. I never understood why or when the US had fallen apart (ie, how much in our future it was), or *really* how the Hunger Games got set up as something the districts would accept for most of a century, or etc etc. Those were things it really needed. But gosh, I did fly through the books. :)

Catie, hoping the wet coast of Canada dries out soon :)
