caution, wind, zoo

I threw caution to the wind yesterday and went to the zoo instead of doing, oh, you know. All the household chores. (This resulted in ordering dinner in last night, but hey.) It was a nice day, which mostly means there was neither wind nor rain, and those two things made going worth it.

So did Young Indiana asking, “Blanket?” when presented with this display:

Fine Feathers (of course)

He was pleased with this chap:

Another Silverback Smile

but *delighted* with this one, who kept dancing, while Young Indiana said, “Again? Again?! Again!”

& steppin' out some more :)

Watching the gorillas:

Intent on the gorilla

Ruuunnnniiiiiiinnnnng!

Joyful boy

Does he have an Irish accent yet? I hope so!
kitmizkit on March 14th, 2012 03:59 am (UTC)
Nah, the people teaching him English have American accents :)

Aw, so cute.

I love peacocks, and now, I'm seriously tempted to make a peacock blanket. :)

Saving off a local copy of the peacock picture. There are about a gazillion (official quantity) peacock-themed knitting patterns, but I never particularly loved any of them. I especially like the golden-brown tones in this, though, so maybe some new design will occur to me. Indy has good taste!

If you want a better copy I've got it at much larger sizes.
Brienzebrienze on March 14th, 2012 01:10 pm (UTC)
That would be awesome. If you don't want to put it up on flickr at original size, gmail allows 25MB attachments and my address is texturedknitter@

I'm still an amateur so I don't know if/when I'll ever come up with a publishable pattern that I like, but if I do I'd contact you about rights/permissions before using your picture in a pattern. Which I realize is a requirement of your flickr terms to begin with, but a lot of internetizens seem to ignore those pesky details. It still always shocks me when creative content producers don't respect the rights on each other's creative content.

Damn you, Catie! You made me go and look at the bears and wolves over at Skansen :p. *ponders* I have 7 euro. Wonder if it covers the entrance fee? *goes to check* Yupp. But it is more fun going with someone...

That is an absolutely lovely peacock. And an absolutely lovely kid. :)

He is growing so fast! And soooo cute.

oh that peacock looks lovely.

i worry about the peacocks at our local zoo, the males never seem to have more than a handful of feathers in their tails. they sell the feathers for 5 bucks a pop in the giftshop with a sign that says they are collected as the birds loose them...

great shots! young indiana looks so happy!!!

That is a very handsome peacock. The third primate down is cute, too.
