I did in fact read LAST LIGHT OF THE SUN this morning, and sadly, it was not worth waiting two years for. It's a fine book, but it didn't grab me the way other Kay books have. I don't know if this is because I'm familiar enough with his tricks to anticipate them, at this point, or if it just didn't work for me. (I'm certainly familiar with the tricks in TIGANA, but it works for me every time.) The cats took turns sitting on my chest and blocking the book while I read. Lucy is now helping me type, by sitting on the keyboard and my chest. Zilli's over there on Ted's lap, sort of perching awkwardly. Silly kitties.
Ted got his cast off! His arm's quite thin and his wrist's all swollen from being stationary for so long, but his elbow, which has been hurting, has stopped aching now that there's not the cast weighting it down, and the doctor's given him exercises to do, so yay! All is well! He's very glad. So am I. :)
Right. Time to dislodge Lucy and go take a shower. Maybe by the time I'm done doing that, Ted'll be done reading WORLDWIRED and I can pounce on it. :)
