I see have befuddled some people with the phrase cat exploded. I stole this phrase from Neil Gaiman some years ago, after he described the writing process this way:

...I may well start posting daily word counts and the 'had a good writing day'/'had a bad writing day' stuff that life writing a novel tends to become. (When writing a novel that's pretty much entirely what life turns into: "House burned down. Car stolen. Cat exploded. Did 1500 easy words, so all in all it was a pretty good day." "Got call this morning to say I'd got Nobel Prize for literature. Wrote less than 300 words (285) probably unusable, so lousy day." And so forth.

So basically, "the cat exploded" means it was a good writing day. :)

That's the sum total of what I've got to say this morning. I'll post the book winners at about 2pm my time, which will be 24 hours from the original posting. If you missed it and want in, I'm sending a signed copy of THUNDERBIRD FALLS to the two people who are closest to my chosen number between 1 and 500. You only get one guess. :)

Not only can't I figure out the time difference to Ireland, I can't spell either. I think this is my sign that it's now officially TGIF. Home I go!
