A Day Out

I threw caution to the wind today and went forth for a Day Out. We went to Baby Cinema, where we saw “Another Year”, which is basically about an older couple who have their shit together and all of their dysfunctional friends and family. I rather enjoyed it, and it was far less sad than I expected, which was good because who needs film angst when there’s real life.

After the movie we dashed, and I do mean dashed, across town to the National Gallery, where every third Wednesday they do a new parents tour, to meet up with Mom and do the tour. We *really* enjoyed it, and I’d like to go back–I think different people do it every time, which means they talk about different paintings. So that’s a Thing I can perhaps do monthly. And Young Indiana was a total delight all day, so clearly the day out was good for him, too. :)

I have *almost* got the dishes done. That’s my big in-the-house accomplishment for the day. Feck it, sez I.

Well done! 'Getting out' is a huge big deal with first babies especially. And you got to see Another Year - yay! - which is more than I will manage. Feck the laundry! Life and energy are finite commodities.
