speaking of spoilers

It turns out that irishkate did *not* click through on my previous entry about Supernatural, so I am standing up to say that I maligned her with all that silliness, and my hat is off to her for not clicking through. “I am spoilerphobic,” she said, in righteous injury. “I belong to a spoiler-free Supernatural community on LJ which I have not read for the past year JUST IN CASE.”

That’s okay. It was funny anyway. :)

But now she has seen all of s5 SPN, so now I will post my philosophical Supernatural question:

So are all prophets God, do you think?

I personally believe the Impala is God. Chuck is just a prophet who got zapped heavenward like several other prophets in the bible.

The Impala's the one that put Sam back in the drivers seat(excuse my pun) at exactly the right time, it housed and protected the boys. Even Chuck said it was the most important thing in the universe.

*ponders this*
huh. I like that idea.

Maybe. I think SPN God does what Anna did. Finds a human body and lives a human life, partially waking at important moments.

SPN heaven sucks. I mean, dealing with Zachariah alone would be enough to drive you to becoming human so it could drive you to drink.

But why human? Isn't anthropomorphism an exclusively human concept?

In the Supernatural universe I don't see God as having necessarily human characteristics, to predispose him/her/itself to being human. The angels have multiple faces and animal parts for instance.

The in-universe heaven does certainly suck. I'd be out of there too if I had the power.

'One of them is a LION!'

I think human because both the angels and Lucifer were angry that God loved humanity so much. Also the only other incarnated -as opposed to possessing some poor unfortunate - angel we saw took on human form.

God could obviously acquire any form, but in my canon God assumes human form in order to be closer to his youngest children. Kind of like when a parent gets down and plays in the sandbox with their kid.

Nothing will dissuade me from Impala=God, but you've got some compelling arguements, nonetheless.
