P-Con 7 schedule

This coming weekend (March 5-7) is Phoenix Con 7, more affectionately known as P-Con. My panel schedule is as follows:

Saturday
11am: Writing Methods of the Experts
C.E. Murphy; George Green; Steve Westcott; Juliet E. McKenna

12:15pm: Superheroes – limited to the graphic arena?
Cheryl Morgan; C.E. Murphy; Bob Neilson; Derek Gunn; Colin Harvey

4pm: Will water become more important in genre fiction?
C.E. Murphy; John Kenny; Ian McDonald; A.J. Healy

5pm: Pictionary

Sunday

10am Panel topics for P-Con VIII
C.E. Murphy; Brian J. Showers; Colin Smythe; Derek Gunn; John Vaughan
(I suspect this may be one of those “we’ll talk about all sorts of random things and next year some of them might make it onto official panels” kinds of panels)

1pm Urban Fantasy: A flash in the pan or here to stay?
C.E. Murphy; Mike Shevdon; Steve Westcott

Everybody else’s panel schedule is here. :) Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend! Yay!

Oh fun, they're putting you on a panel with Mike S. Get Jules to introduce you if you've not previously met.

We've met via email! Our (now) mutual agent introduced us, and I blurbed SIXTY-ONE NAILS for him. I'm looking forward to meeting him in person. :)

I think you'll like him. Jules has good taste in people in my experience. I'd say 'excellent', except that I seem to be included in that number.

You get to be on a panel with the famous Mike Shevdon? Awesome!

And I'm sure you're quite the hoot in a game of Pictionary.

"Will water become more important in genre fiction?"

I keep trying to think of things that could mean. None of them make a lot of sense.

Really it's going to be a panel about climate change and whether things like water rationing/sales/etc will become a major factor in either real life or a driving force in near-future (or far-future) SF storytelling, particularly.

That was, in fact, one of the options I was entertaining.

Others included, "Will it become more important to mention water, instead of, say, booze, to address today's health-conscious fiction consumer?" or "Is it going to become more important for authors of genre fiction to drink more water?" or "Are mermaids the next craze (a la vampires and zombies)?"

Like I said...none of them good.

*laughs* I may bring all of those up during the panel, just because they're such good interpretations of the possible meaning of the name! :)

Glad to be of (dubious) assistance.

If I had a transporter I'd see you there. Ahwell. Have fun :)
