Blue Moon Eclipse!

Ted and I, in a fit of, er, fitfulness, went out to dinner tonight. When we came out of the restaurant, we looked up at the blue moon, which was missing a chunk. “Um,” said Ted, “where’s the Doctor?”

“Obviously up there carving up the moon,” said I. Neither of us had had any idea a partial eclipse was scheduled for tonight. If I’d known, I’d have taken the camera out and gotten a cooler picture than this one, but this one, taken from the front yard, isn’t bad. :)

cool, thanks! We're not going to see any of it, even if it weren't terribly overcast/snowy,

Lucky you, not overcast! Once in a blue moon indeed. Good picture :)

That? Is a rather cool picture, actually.

Also, that? Is a partially-eclipsed blue moon on New Year's Eve, which is rare enough - the last one was ninety-odd years ago - that it's never going to happen again in our lifetimes. Unless they hurry up with those anti-agathics...

Well, thank you. :) If I'd known about the eclipse I could've gotten a picture of it over the cathedral, which would ahve been much cooler, but since I didn't, a picture of the eclipse itself will simply have to do. And yes! The rarity is part of why I took the picture! :)
