bookstore signings poll
This is more so I can perhaps give the bookstores some sense of what to expect/order/etc than for my own self-aggrandizement. Regardless, I didn't put a "no" option on the 'are you attending' because I didn't figure that'd be very helpful, since most of my 600+ friends list do not live in Seattle and Fairbanks. :)

I will be attending the Fairbanks booksigning on November 27th:

Yes
0(0.0%)
Maybe
5(100.0%)

I will be attending the Seattle booksigning on December 2nd:

Yes
5(29.4%)
Maybe
12(70.6%)

I'm likely to:

bring all my CE Murphy books I have lovingly collected over the past four years
7(25.0%)
buy books there
5(17.9%)
stand fifteen feet away for an hour, then chicken out and run off before introducing myself
5(17.9%)

If I'm buying books, I hope:

the first book in any given series will be available
3(10.3%)
the most recent book in any given series will be available
1(3.4%)
all the books in all the series will be available
1(3.4%)
let's get real. it's a bookstore. If I'm missing any of Catie's books I'll probably buy them, but I'll be lucky to get out of the store without buying five other books too.
17(58.6%)

I am glad there's a ticky box option even if I'm not going to either of the signings:

Yay ticky boxes!
57(100.0%)
Boo ticky boxes!
0(0.0%)

I'd be there if I wasn't washing my hair that day...on the other side of the world....

Hope you get to enjoy it lots.

I just had a bottle of wine. I take no responsibility for my answers. :)

I just finished a coffee, and I still take no responsibility for my answer. :)
kitmizkit on November 7th, 2009 04:52 pm (UTC)
I think you're both completely responsible for your answers, and silly. :)

When your ego ebbs at some point, Miss Catie, please take note of these people begging you to come see them because you're going to be on the same continent. I think that's pretty darned cool. :)
kitmizkit on November 7th, 2009 11:30 am (UTC)
I've noticed that. It's a little surreal. :)

yeah. darnit.

I can't send my Kindle to Seattle to get it signed. :)

So (comparatively) close to Missouri.... but so (expletive) far.... :(
cypherindigo on November 7th, 2009 10:44 am (UTC)
If I weren't on the other side of the stinking continent. I should just mail you bookplates to sign.

I will amend my answers to clarify that by "me" I really mean my mom (which is why it's only Maybe and not a OMFGYES!) since she lives in Fairbanks. I have also sent her copies of your books with orders to read them (mission: Make her a fangirl), and asked her nicely to buy Walking Dead for the signing. :) So she may just buy the one, or may show up with a stack so long as you are cool with it. Also, just to note, she ranks seriously high up on the awesome mom list.
kitmizkit on November 7th, 2009 11:29 am (UTC)
If she wishes to haul a whole pile over, I don't mind at all. I can't imagine there'll be so many people that everybody can't get whatever they bring signed. I'm not, after all, Neil Gaiman. :)
Pamelajeditigger on November 7th, 2009 12:08 pm (UTC)
And Neil Gaiman is not you! (I love you both.)
kitmizkit on November 7th, 2009 04:53 pm (UTC)
Well, yes, but the point was I'm not likely to pull 500 people and have to limit them to one signed item apiece. :)
Pamelajeditigger on November 7th, 2009 11:21 pm (UTC)
I know, and MY point was that you may not now (who knows) but you WILL. So THERE. :)
Rachie: YAY!!rachie203 on November 7th, 2009 12:12 pm (UTC)
You = Amazing

I will let her know, thanks very much!

*snarfle* That's awesome that you recognize and acknowledge this tendency.

Bookstore accident!

Well, humans are silly creatures who do things like that. :)

It's readers like those who keep bookstores in business... as y'all know! :)

where's the "i'm so happy she's coming to Canada" option?! :P
tamagotamago on November 7th, 2009 03:58 pm (UTC)
I won't be at either of those signings, but I had to answer your bookstore question because it's SO TRUE!
Aberdeenaberdeen on November 7th, 2009 05:57 pm (UTC)
If I can find a cheaper/faster way to get to Fairbanks than going through Anchorage, I'll come. 'Cause I'm crazy like that. (:
Anna the Piperannathepiper on November 7th, 2009 07:09 pm (UTC)
I'll see how many of your books of mine I can actually bring while commuting home from work! :)
