debts of gratitude

I owe a debt of gratitude to Soapturtle, who has rescued mizkit.com from certain doom. There was a time in my life when I could’ve done it myself, but *man* am I grateful for someone who’s willing to do it for me.

Rumor has it that Amazon is shipping WALKING DEAD as early as *today* (which is a full two weeks before its official release date), so let me know if you get your copy!

Wow, holy *crap*. Marith just gave me this link: lost photographs of Hiroshima.

Which reminds me of one of the Antique Roadshows I saw some years ago. This old guy had the two most inconsequential pieces of ruined–melted, in fact–porcelain ever, and the antiques guy was like, “…I’m sorry, but these are worthless. Where’d you get them?” And the old guy said, “I was (US, I believe) military, and picked them up off the ground in Hiroshima in August 1945.” The antiques guy more or less turned white, and said, essentially, “Um, let me retract that earlier statement, these are *priceless*….”

miles to Morannan: 41.7

Mine arrived in the facility in the next town over around 5:30am. I still probably won't get it until tomorrow, but I WILL get it tomorrow! Just in time to bring on my flight! YES!

Got it! Am flying my way through Thunderbird Falls again (and, once again, resisting the urge to smack Jo -- random people in your garden means DANGER! DANGER!).

*nod* I've seen the lost photos site before, but the porcelain story brought a big smile to my face.

. . . and how did Soapturtle rescue your website? *blink*

Oh, something in WordPress got borked on it. It may even have just been a server-side flub, but it needed upgrading to the latest WordPress version anyway, and she did that for me.
