officially impressed with myself

Periodically people (debela, particularly) want to know what it takes for me to be satisfied/impressed/pleased with myself/my accomplishments.

Here is the answer:

My first book came out 4 years, 6 weeks ago. Including the comics as one unit, what you see there are 15 books with my name on ‘em.

Today, I am officially impressed with myself.

It looks better and better with each book!

Yay for bound copies of the Walking Dead!

I'm impressed too!

And rightly so!

I'm only up to seven, myself, but I aspire!

Wow! Just incredible!

I no longer work in the bookstore, but I think I've sold somewhere around two hundred copies of those various titles personally :D
desperancedesperance on July 20th, 2009 04:35 pm (UTC)
Please to go back to working in bookstores?

So now I know who to talk to for a job as a sales rep at conventions. :)

kitmizkit on July 20th, 2009 05:25 pm (UTC)
...right then. Would you like an early copy of WALKING DEAD? O.O

Because you're Just That Cool.

Huh. I'll need to go back and look at my copy of Walking Dead. I think the color on the ARC's spine is different.

My shelf is groaning under the weight of your books! ;)

BTW, I don't know if you have any control over it but the Amazon bibliography listing for you as an author is missing the pre-order link for Take a Chance, Hands of Flame, and Fantasy Medley

I'll see if I can do anything about it...

It is - *counts on fingers* - twenty-six years since my first book came out? And even including those which don't have my name on, I'm barely on two dozen.

*is impressed, in a snarly look-over-the-shoulder kind of way*

*types faster, to stay ahead*
kitmizkit on July 20th, 2009 05:29 pm (UTC)
I swear to God I'm trying to slow down. I'm totally fucking failing, but I'm trying. (And technically the Cate Dermody books don't have my name on them... :))

*looks tired* Two. Two books a year is my goal. Starting from this year, it was supposed to be... and yet I have at least 3 new releases next year, not counting anthologies, and possibly (including anthologies) as many as seven...

Yes, yes I do believe that there is a visual representation of Success.

Always impressive watching that pile of books grow.
What does it look like adding in all the other varying formats?

That is so cool. I would be pleased with myself, too, if I were you.

It's a little limited run anthology from Subterranean Press which has a short story from the Old Races world in it! SubPress is sold out, but you might be able to get a copy on Amazon.

You are officially scary. Not Asimov scary, but well into the "putting other authors to shame" realm.

And well you should be!

Has it only been 4 years? I feel like I've been reading your stories for lots longer.

I'm impressed. Chris (my wife) is impressed, too, and she doesn't even know you.
