I’ve been verbed!

During today’s wars, I became a verb:

SharonM: LOL, Cating. Hear no evil, see no evil, yada yada
SharonM: Catie — not Cating
meerkat: I like ‘Cating.” She is not a Noun, she is a Verb!
mizkit: I’ll cate you if you’re not careful! :)
SharonM: I know Catie. She COULD be a verb. :D
meerkat: Sharon –exactly
SharonM: See? :D
mizkit: I must be a verb that means “inclined to workaholism”
meerkat: “always in motion, the Cating is.”
NewGuyDave: I need to be more cating
mizkit: lol
mizkit: i have been verbed!

I really, truly love these wars. :) Not because I got verbed, but because of the camaraderie of people in an essentially solitary profession all getting together to work, from one side of the globe to the other. Sharon said yesterday she didn’t feeeeeeeeel like writing, but she thought, well, everybody’s expecting me to be there! and so she logged in and got 1900 words written. That just makes me happy. We even have one ambitious soul logging in from California now, which is *very* ambitious, since the wars start at 6:30am her time!

They run daily, 9:30am-12:30pm Eastern, here, if you wanna join up.

Clearly I suck because I am not also getting up to start at 6:30 with you.

Go, brave lil Caliwriter!

No, this person has small children and is sort of up anyway. :)

But! She also would like to war past the time my brain turns to a pumpkin and I usually leave, so you should log in when your brain is ready to write! There are at least a couple people who're willing to stay around, and if we can get the momentum going for Left Coasters then there could be a change of guard sort of turnover!

and some of us would like to start a Late Night War, too....

Define a time frame for Late Night! Because it does kind of appear that if you build it, they will come.

Late night...

I've joined difrancis a couple of times in the afternoon, but only for one period because that's dinner here.

Uninterrupted writing time in this house doesn't start until 10:00 p.m. EST. When's Late?
Laura Anne Gilmansuricattus on May 7th, 2009 04:19 pm (UTC)
I'd be game to War any time after 10PM eastern. Except Monday nights, 'cause that's when Castle is on.
Michellemsagara on May 7th, 2009 05:09 pm (UTC)
Tonight (Thursday) I can't actually do it because I'm dinnering out and they go late, but tomorrow (Friday) on would be fine. I know most real people have weekend social evenings, otoh (this in general would not be me). Mondays, if you wanted to start after Castle, I might remember to actually watch it.

I tend to write between 10:00 pm (or 10:30, depending on oldest's homework) until writing is done. Which can be as late as 4:00 a.m., although that is -not- my favourite time, but usually ends at about 1:30ish.

Tomorrow's iffy, because I'll be signing @7 tomorrow night in Cambridge (MA) so will either be basking in exhaustion, or crying into my beer because nobody showed up. Monday sounds like a plan...

I am more likely to be able to do Late Night word wars consistently than anything else, so this could work. I can't start them this week because life sucks and I'm running away to my chapter retreat to try to make it better, but, yes. Next week, thumbs up.
