snowmens!

Today, there was enough snow in Longford for the nephews to build a snowman!

there was also enough snow for Uncle Ted to show the nephews how to have a snowball fight. :)

A bunch more pictures here, and a few of the kitties here. :)

It’s been a nice day. :)

(x-posted from the essential kit)

You wouldn't like some of ours, would you? It's just we've had a reasonable layer for the last week, and I know how an Alaskan lass will have been wanting a little bit more than you've had there.

I'd love it, but I'm not sure the locals would... :)

*grin*

Three years back, we arrived in Basel for Fasnacht. Except, we arrived a little late, because ATC wouldn't let our flight leave Stansted unil Basel-Freiburg-Mulhouse airport was open:

During the night before Morgestraich 2006 about 50cm of snow fell within only a couple of hours and blocked the inner city of Basel. It took great effort to free the city from the snow and enable the Fasnacht to take place. Never before has a Fasnacht been celebrated with more snow, and especially not fresh-fallen snow. This 50cm of snow was the third-highest snow level ever recorded in Basel and the highest level of fresh-fallen snow within 24 hours for the city.

Many of the side streets had strangely bumpy snowdrifts. But since nobody was going down them, we're not certain there were cars within them.

Oh goodness! Your father has . . . gray in his beard. And he has a beard. Neither of which I remember, although it's been . . . what, close to ten years or so? Quite dashing, however. It all looks grand on him.

But I will say that Ted is as handsome as ever. And Lucy is a goofy kitty when it comes to scratching posts.
