*clutches heart*

I do believe Daniel Craig does the best emotionally vulnerable tough guy I have ever seen. *clutches heart* Ted and I snuck off in the miserable weather to watch “Quantum of Solace”, which I think was considerably better than “Casino Royale”, and now I’ll return to work more happily. I’m considering adding a subplot, if I can figure out how to jury-rig it in there….

*makes note to see movie 'cause it's good, not just 'cause I'm shallow*

[remember when people were complaining about having a blond Bond? It was like they were suggesting we elect a non-white President or something! Oh, wait...]

*giggles* Being shallow is a pretty legitimate reason to see it, too, though. He is by no stretch of the imagination the best-looking Bond, but god damn if he isn't the sexiest, IMHO.

sexy is hella more important than pretty. IMO, anyway.
kitmizkit on November 10th, 2008 09:15 am (UTC)
Yeah. Sexy lasts. Pretty doesn't, necessarily. (Unless you happen to be extremely fortunate and be, say, Paul Newman or James Garner, in which case you get both pretty *and* sexy and it lasts...) :)

Dude, how is it fair that you've seen that already? Isn't it enough that you get to live in Ireland? Now you get to see Bond movies a week before we do? Hrmph.

By the way, I love your assessment of Craig's performance. It's so much more eloquent than mine, which usually begins with, "He looks like dinner jackets were invented just to make him look hot."
kitmizkit on November 9th, 2008 04:54 pm (UTC)
Dude, it's *totally* fair! Most movies open late over here, so at *least* I should get to see Bond before you guys do! :)

*laughs* Forget the dinner jackets. There's a speedboat race scene where his pants get wet. That man has an incredible hiney. :)

OK, OK, I'll concede that point.

You know the funny thing is that he's not Brad Pitt or Ryan Reynolds (my preferred Ripped Actor), but he's so clearly bloody FIT without looking like he has to work out all the time to get there. I mean, we know he does, but we can imagine it's his Bondian lifestyle that gives him the Posterior of Amazement.

(I'm not a butt person; I prefer chests, which explains my great love of Christian Bale from the neck down as well as the neck up. But ... well, I don't have to love sculpture to admire Michaelangelo's David, do I? I will look forward to admiring it.)

I'm actually a leg woman myself, but I'm willing to move north for a truly fine posterior. :)

Oh, man, legs are right up there too. When I was in college, we'd get together in my dorm to watch Magnum, PI because Tom Selleck has the nicest legs to stare at. :) I approve of your taste!

a good ass is a thing of wonder. And this from a woman who checks out a guy's hands first....
kitmizkit on November 9th, 2008 09:14 pm (UTC)
Hands can be awfully good too.

Hm. Possibly I just like boy parts. :)

Ooo, good to hear that it doesn't suck. I'll be seeing this as fast as possible, although this is currently defined as 'after flashfire gets up here for Thanksgiving'!

And oh god yes Daniel Craig emotional vulnerable tough guy sexiness FTW! <3
kitmizkit on November 9th, 2008 08:37 pm (UTC)
There are about three instances of that vulnerable tough guy that just turned my brain to goo. Damn, but he's good at that. :)
annathepiper on November 9th, 2008 08:40 pm (UTC)
Oh YAY! I am very much looking forward to it.

Also, looking forward to the sight of the sheer magnificence of his shirtless shoulders. Hell, that right there alone will be good to gooify me for at least half the movie! ;)
kitmizkit on November 9th, 2008 08:40 pm (UTC)
I'll be in my bunk. :)

I rewatched Casino Royale last night. I am READY.
Merlin Of Chaosmerlinofchaos on November 9th, 2008 07:15 pm (UTC)
I only finally saw Casino Royale on Friday. I thought it was one of the best Bond flicks I'd seen, with the writing and directing doing a really good job of doing its own thing but still paying tribute to all of the things that have made Bond Bond.
kitmizkit on November 9th, 2008 08:36 pm (UTC)
Casino Royale was *easily* my favorite Bond film (I'm not actually a Bond fan at all), although I thought the whole after-hospitalization interlude with Vesper was jarring. But I didn't have any similar problems with Quantum of Solace, and really enjoyed it.

Yay! Great to hear the film's good. Of course, I'd see it anyway. Craig definitely has "it," charisma, intensity, presence... whatever... but, yeah... vulnerable tough guy... what's not to like? ^___^
