sloggy progress

Yesterday was utterly useless. Today I decided I needed to focus on either revisions or writing, and given that revisions will pay me sooner, I worked on revisions today. o.O I’m actually about halfway through the WALKING DEAD manuscript now, so it’s going pretty well, although it’s in the last quarter that my editor thinks it really needs work, so. Hopefully I’ll lurch through the third quarter tomorrow and do the last bit over the weekend so I can 1. turn it in and 2. start catching up with NNWM on Monday.

I did manage (sort of accidentally) to write the first five hundred words or so of the seventh Walker Papers novel. Pity I haven’t written five or six yet. :)

I have to give the computer to poor Ted, who’s falling asleep. :)

ytd wordcount: 345,200
miles to Isengard: 469.1

Writing is writing! It'll mean less to write when you get to that one. ;)

*snort*

You've been paying too much attention to that fellow from Edinburgh and his tactic of writing anything but the novel he's supposed to be writing.

I've got the last chapter of the sixth book written, too. :) But that's been written for years. :)

You Are Joanne Rowling And I Claim My Five Quid!

There are 9 books in the series! It's not the last chapter of the last book!

...and if I had as much money as JK, I'd give you five quid. :)

Huh.

Interesting. I would have said it was the first quarter that needed the most work. I am fascinated.

I've done some stuff in the first quarter that I think improves it, actually, but my editor almost always wants me to do more work on the last quarter of any given book. :) It'll be interesting to see what you think of the final product.
Lady Doomlithera on November 6th, 2008 04:00 pm (UTC)
Yeah, for me, the first quarter was where it felt like you were taking a bit of time to get back into these characters. Not that you'd lost them or anything but it was like getting used to walking a pair of boot you'd just refound in the closet.
kitmizkit on November 6th, 2008 04:01 pm (UTC)
Yep, and a reasonable chunk of that has been excised. :)

Neat!
