book things

War has erupted among the five Old Races, and Margrit Knight is responsible for the death that caused it. Now New York City’s most unusual lawyer faces her toughest negotiation yet. And with her gargoyle lover, Alban, taken prisoner, Margrit’s only allies–a dragon bitter about his fall, a vampire determined to hold his standing at any cost and a mortal detective with no idea what he’s up against–have demands of their own.

Determined to rescue Alban and torn between conflicting loyalties as the battle seeps into the human world, Margrit soon realizes the only way out is through the fire….

Today is Release Day for HANDS OF FLAME, the third and final book in my Negotiator series! A bunch of people have picked it up already, but it should be available all around by now. If you guys wanted to do the same thing you did with TQB, and send it back to print by the end of the month…that would be good. :)

My esteemed agent, arcaedia/Jennifer Jackson, has a Nuts & Bolts interview up at Publishers Weekly, and talks about THE QUEEN’S BASTARD therein. (Thanks, Jenn!)

I’m tired of rain.

Woooo!

I'll have to go stalk it.

I hate admitting that I only just read Heart of Stone, but...yeah, I only just read it this weekend. Would it help to say that I read it all in one sitting and shushed my husband whenever he tried to distract me from it? And that I'm now trying to work House of Cards and Hands of Flame into my weekly budget 'cause I want to read them NOW?

Until I get the next two, though, I'll have to make do with The Queen's Bastard. How sad ;)

Yay for book release!
kitmizkit on August 26th, 2008 05:19 pm (UTC)
*laughs* As long as you're enjoying them, I don't care when you read them. Besides, I'll forgive anybody with that icon almost anything. :)

No you don't.
Jennifer Jacksonarcaedia on August 26th, 2008 04:42 pm (UTC)
Excellent! I had it down for a September 1st post (since that's what Amazon listed) but it shows as already shipping regardless.
kitmizkit on August 26th, 2008 05:12 pm (UTC)
Well, that's the Very Official Release Date, but since Luna releases books on the last Tuesday of the month before the street date, it's out way-early seeming. People seem to be getting it, anyway! :)

Man that TBR pile just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I guess that means I should be writing faster! :D
cinnamonbitecinnamonbite on August 26th, 2008 04:58 pm (UTC)
Nothing worse than an author saying, "final book in...series."
kitmizkit on August 26th, 2008 05:20 pm (UTC)
Would it help if I said there'll probably be more someday?
cinnamonbitecinnamonbite on August 28th, 2008 01:12 am (UTC)
It would...if it were true...you're not just saying that so I won't stalk you or something, are ya? LOL
kit: negotiatormizkit on August 28th, 2008 10:10 am (UTC)
No, there really will be more someday. Just probably not until I finish writing the Walker Papers. :)
cinnamonbitecinnamonbite on August 29th, 2008 02:01 pm (UTC)
Finish? Not forever finish, right? I like that series the best!
kitmizkit on August 29th, 2008 05:06 pm (UTC)
I'm planning 9 books for the series. :)
cinnamonbitecinnamonbite on August 30th, 2008 12:11 am (UTC)
Yea!

I’m tired of rain.

And yet you live in Ireland. Aw, that's sweet...

Yay for publication. There is no downside to more books, that I can discover: that's "more books by Catie", or "more books on my shelves", or "more books in the world". It's all good.

Gaaaaaaah! I can't buy it til next pay period. *sob*

(but YAY for release!)
Beccasaiena on August 26th, 2008 06:37 pm (UTC)
*pokes Amazon UK*

*has a delivery date for late October on that order*

*thumps Amazon*

*still says October*

*go off to cry tears of impatience*

After that snippet on your website I'm dying to know what happens *twitch* Ah well, I'm sure it's good for me... somehow *twitch*

Congratulations on the release.

I got my copy right at closing time today. They had it shelved in the fiction/lit section, apart from the rest of the series for some reason. But it doesn't look like anyone had trouble finding it - I grabbed the last copy on the shelf from what looked to have been space for multiple copies : )
april: raiderapril_art on August 27th, 2008 07:12 am (UTC)
Will definitely seek out a copy ASAP. I've enjoyed your Negotiator series. Good to know there may be more! ... And thank you for the relatively short wait between this and _House of Cards_! ^___^
