A while ago I sold my short story “Them Shoes” to Subterranean Press, and it is now up in their Summer magazine! I’m all pleased. :)

I haven’t been able to figure out how to start the 5th Walker Papers, despite several attempts. I complained of this last night. Ted said, “Start with a (extremely obvious solution).” Why couldn’t *I* think of that?!? *flails around in exasperation*

I’m seriously considering emailing all of those nice “I’d buy ‘em if you wrote six books” comments on the last entry to my editor. She’s asked before about what reactions I’ve gotten to TQB…

We’ve been watching the Olympics. I get terribly emotional over the Olympics. It doesn’t even matter if I like the sport. I get all AWWW SNIFFLE THEY WON! Such a dork. :)

I cannot for the life of me decide what to do with my hair. Consequently it’s getting longer and shaggier and more annoying. Cutting it v. short again is by far the easiest thing to do, especially with swimming. But my ears get cold, a thing which never bothered me until recently. But I’ve got to do *something*. Mrhghghg.

Oop! Ted needs the computer. *scurries off*

I just wish they'd show more of the sports on our T.V. that are not so mainstream to us. That'd be neat to watch, too.

And on the hair: temp solution while you decide is to wear a headband, if necessary around your forehead, swashbuckler style to keep it back (remember my maroon one I used to wear all the time?). And for winter, get a polarfleece one and your ears will be warm, even if hair is too short. I've always liked the fuzzy headband option for head warming, probably from my skiing years. Hats are too hot, earmuffs are bulky and fall off plus too hot and you have to go back on the trail to get them when you throw them off during the race. Headbands rock cuz you can just pull them down to your neck when you overheat and they aren't lost.

Had to get a few pairs of earmuffs before I figured that one out... ;)
