rumor has it…

Rumor up here in Longford has it that down in Cork, irishkate/Kate’s water has broken, and my husband has rushed to her assistance.

*weeps with laughter* Apparently something burst in Kate’s car, and she called Ted for help. Dad, upon talking to Ted, came in and said that Kate’s car had burst something, maybe “a water pipe”, which almost instantly devolved into the above-described scenario. Then I said, “I gotta blog this,” and, well, here I am. *giggles and giggles*

God, we’re funny. :)

(*waves at Kate and Ted* O.O)

Sounds just like the old Telephone game we used to play as kids, doesn't it?
Did your moving van arrive with your furniture?
kitmizkit on June 23rd, 2008 08:37 pm (UTC)
It did! I now have a house full of boxes. :)

We finally moved into our new apartment (after living in a hotel for a couple of months) after relocating back to New York, and we're still surrounded by boxes.

The first thing to get unpacked: manuscripts.

The second thing: home theater system. Unfortunately the movers who packed everything have placed the power cord to my receiver someplace other than every other piece of home theater equipment. Until I find it, my movie watching experience is sorely reduced.

Good luck with the unpacking.

I unpacked two boxes of DVDs last night, largely because they were clearly labeled and I had somewhere easy to put them. but it was a start! :)
irishkateirishkate on June 23rd, 2008 11:44 pm (UTC)
At least you'll have Emily to help you unpack...
kitmizkit on June 24th, 2008 07:36 am (UTC)
Oh yes. Emily's going to have *such* a good time visiting Longford. :)

Why thank you for not noticing the extra weight!

Go Ted! Hope he didn't send his catcher's mitt to Longford yet. :)

How would you like to make that lunch in my place tomorrow?? I have no idea if I'll have transport to the city!!

And Ted wants to know if you's like the frozen food he still has - peas and beans and such?

Got this a shade late :)

Have you seen livelongnmarry? Any chance of Mizkit stuff ending up in that auction?
kitmizkit on June 24th, 2008 07:39 am (UTC)
I had not seen it. Uh. Yeah, I could do something for that. A critique, do you suppose? Or did you have a different brilliant idea that you thought people might go for?
Tayefethtayefeth on June 24th, 2008 11:12 pm (UTC)
If you'd be willing to do a critique, I'm sure it would sell. If you wanted something easier, you could offer an autographed book.

Thank you for the huge giggle that I really needed tonight. I was going "what? WHAT?" at the bit before the cut.

I'm sure Ted would be capable of coping with any scenario though. At least until you got there and could take over cos he was doing it wrong.
kitmizkit on June 24th, 2008 07:46 am (UTC)
I damned near made myself cry from laughing so hard. :) I'm glad you got a giggle too!

...I'm pretty sure Ted knows as much about delivering a baby as I do... :)
Mary Annepers1stence on June 24th, 2008 02:05 pm (UTC)
Actually, I seem to recall that Ted and I took a semester long "first responder" class on Saturdays one winter that included at least a day or two talking about babies and the delivery thereof, including at least one video that ought to be played in high schools as a part of the pregnancy-prevention curriculum.
irishkateirishkate on June 23rd, 2008 11:40 pm (UTC)
my *WHAT*?

oh yeah - right - yes....

it was in fact "some kind of water pipe" and they towed my car/baby.

Ted was a hero - he pushed and my baby made it to the path.
