drive-by posting

I’m blogging today over at Simply Romance Reviews. I also got name-checked in a Library Journal article on urban fantasy, which makes me quite happy.

Walked down the canal until I reached the end of the walk today. It was the first time since leaving Alaska that I’d been on a walk that actually felt like it had some element of wilderness to it. It’s nothing at all like the coastal trail in Anchorage or anything (and, y’know, there are horses and cows along the trail instead of moose and bears), but it was really nice to feel like I was a little way outside a city.

miles to Minas Tirith: 480.8

It's good to know that there are STILL moose and bear running around Anchorage, the big city.
I used to live in Seward when I was little.

It's a small wilderness but our own.

Some of those horses can be mighty dangerous. Especially if you look like you've got sugar cubes in your pockets.

I GOT THE FREE COPY OF TQB!!!! :D I have to tell you this is the first time I've ever won anything. And my husband will be so SO happy I'm not out buying another book. I'm home writing and he's bringing home the money at this point. He just finished cataloging the last twenty I bought in the past two months. I told him it was research for my writing. :) It's true, everything you read has an impact good or bad on you and that trickles down to your own writing. Yes? Yes.

SO, I just wanted to say thank you. I've really got to pick up the pace on my own writing now, since I know once the book arrives that's all I'll be doing until it's finished. And I want my rough done by July 25th.

Thanks again, and I hope that your move goes well.

Re: Winner!!!
*laugh* Well, I can make it slightly easier for you by dangling the book over your head: I could *not send it* until you're done with your rough.

I can't send it for a couple weeks, anyway, because I've just left all my copies of the book 120 miles behind me and won't be back near them until Friday next. :)

Congratulations! That's awesome. I'm glad this is a good something for a first win! :)

Re: Winner!!!
Definitely a good first win! :) My hubby has been laughing at my extremely good mood from the win. I even made BROWNIES!!!

ACK!!! I don't know that I like the idea of you not sending it until the rough is done...then again that probably wouldn't be a bad idea except as soon as I'm done with the rough I will want the reward immediately. Hmm...ah just send it when it's convenient for you. As long as it's by July 25th that is. :D

I hope your move goes well. Thanks again for the book. Way excited!
