*sigh*

I am not feeling up for it today. This is ennui; this is the Novelist’s Event Horizon at its peak. The book is done except that niggling rewrite of the prologue, and doing it seems completely overwhelming. Even my walk this morning was uninspiring (although it did involve cygnets, and if I can find the right camera attachment I’ll post a picture at the end of this entry), and my friends list is full of less-than-brilliant medical news (except my lj-writers friends list, on which one of the communities there was a less-than-enthusiastic review of URBAN SHAMAN, which is okay except for the part where I’m already suffering from ennui and OH GOD THEY HATE ME doesn’t help … and, see, I can’t even wallow well, because I’ve made myself snicker with that…), and the frakking rental agency people didn’t turn up yesterday (nor did they call, the #$^&wits), so where I might otherwise drag myself out of the house to hand-write this prologue and have a nice cup of hot chocolate, I’m stuck here waiting on these bozos for another day. And the dishes need doing. Man, I’m just Ms. Whinybutt.

Meh, the wee little camera didn’t take a good enough picture of the ugly ducklings to bother. Have a picture of the River Lee instead:

All right, it’s 5am on the east coast. Surely I can get this prologue rewritten and the spellcheck done by 5pm their time. *slogs off*

I can’t even wallow well, because I’ve made myself snicker with that…)

Sometimes, the inability to take ourselves seriously is all that allows us to remain sober.

It's 5:55 on the East Coast. Have you written your prologue today? *grins, ducks*

(my wordcount death-slog started yesterday. Slog, slog slog... but I also made lamb pie, so not all is bad.)

Nice pic, Ms. Whinybutt.

Could be worse - could be raining you know.
Or even worse you could hear me singing "Not Dead Yet" from Spamalot - and may you never hear me sing. (makes note to keep all singing fat ladies well away from me!)
Be well princess

To cheer you up (it did me *g*) - The postman has just delivered TQB and wow! does the cover look totally fab in real life, all the gold dust is awesome. the only niggle on my reading horizon, is that I've got to do the next chunk of my edits before I can even think of curling up - oh well - at least I've got something to spur me on now ;)

*beams* Yay! I do love the cover. Also, your email is sitting neglected in my mailbox and I feel guilty. Just so you know I did read it. Months ago. :)

No worries ;)

TQB - I'm fifty pages in and absolutely loving it!

(Sadly I can't spend the day curled up with it, much as I want to, but such is life *sigh*)

*laugh* Thank you both. It's ok. I have been forced to accept that not everybody is going to adore everything I write, and the reviewer did say she'd still look for other stuff I'd written, which was nice. :)

In the beginning, Author created the story and the characters. And the story was without form and void. And then some interesting stuff happened. And then, having gotten the rest of it right, Author moped over a suboptimal prologue. :P

Hope it didn't give you too much trouble before you beat it into shape!

Delurking to say - I got 'Heart of Stone' yesterday and I'm really looking forward to reading it! That's my bribe for a)dyeing my son's hair Gothy black; and b)cleaning the bathroom afterwards. Squee!
