Best husband ever.

More or less before I'd gotten out of the shower this morning, Ted had bought tickets for Joss Whedon and Much Ado About Nothing at the Jameson International Film Festival next month. Best husband ever.

He also sent me to see the Sands Family and Martin Hayes/Dennis Cahill perform at Christchurch last night, after I'd forgotten we had tickets and failed to arrange for any babysitting. I'd had vague hopes that the Sands Family would be on second so I could sneak out at intermission, but no, of course not. There is very little on this earth that can top Hayes & Cahill in performance, and while the Sands Family are charming and wonderful, they just couldn't follow those two without being a total disappointment.

And Hayes and Cahill are as brilliant as ever. Watching people who'd never seen them before was almost as much fun as the music. If you ever get the chance to see them perform, do. If you get the chance to see them perform two nights running at the same venue, for the love of God, go to both shows. When I've seen double-headers, the first night they play to compliment one another and it's fantastic. The second night, they play in competition with each other, and it's exhilarating. They make me want to burst with joy. So best husband ever twice over. <3
