Better day so far today, not that I've gotten as far as, oh, say, WRITING anything yet. I went down into Cobh with Ted and did a foggy-morning photo shoot before the post office opened. I think I've got some nice stuff, and I'm thinking maybe I'll post a gallery of them instead of putting them up on kitsnaps in slow motion, because I feel like showing off. Heh. Anyway, once the PO opened I paid bills and walked home, which wasn't a bad way to spend the morning.

I've now got all the rough draft letters (basically done in b&w without color splashes or anything) for issue #1. I am genuinely astonished at how few words I used. I'm going to have to look at the other issues and see if I was that terse in all of them. (I bet Melissa, my letterer, hopes so: she commented on how COOL it was to be able to do letters without cramming paragraphs into tiny spaces and to have room to play around with layout and stuff. *laugh* Now I'm going to feel terrible if I'm using too many words! :)) I'm going to do some edits and actually add some text in a few places, to help transitions, but overall I'm really pleased with the effect.

I've got to remember to call and find out what the deal with my Spanish class is, as I haven't heard from anybody about it. Maybe tomorrow I can go to Fota and get a membership. Big plans for the day: write, turn in HoC, laundry, shower, cook dinner. Not in any particular order, either.

a plea from my brother in law!

A plea to local folks!

I thought this article was well written, and it also points out that a documentary of Ó Cadhain's life is on RTE tonight: Rí na bhFocal tonight at 10.15pm. It will most likely have English subtitles.

Also If anyone can record TV I'd be very happy if you could record it for me, since Deirdre won't be able to watch it :(

Has anybody got the capability to tape this? We haven't (we don't even own a VCR anymore), so I thought I'd throw it out to the good hearted people of Livejournal and Ireland. :)

photo shoot

Posted several photos from this morning's shoot here. Stupid gallery put a mid-sized version in between the thumbnails and the full-sized, so they're all clickable for a larger version. Mom thinks that set would make a fine 13-month calendar (and though I'd switch one or two of the pictures out, I think she might be right). That might be fun to do. Oh, hey, I can do a poll.

Would you be in the *slightest* bit inclined to buy an "Irish Mist" calendar?

four down. three to go.

I have just turned in HOUSE OF CARDS. That's the fourth manuscript I've turned in this year. I have one more to go, and one more revision (I've done two this year).

You see that icon there? With the kitty cat with its face all mashed into the floor and its arms all spread out? That is me. That is so totally me.

I just need to pull another 50K on THE QUEEN'S BASTARD out of my ... mind.

I swear to freaking god, I am taking six weeks off when the COYOTE revisions are done. I will hire a cabana boy and he will feed me grapes and rub my feet and ... no, screw that. I can feed myself grapes and Ted can rub my feet. The cabana boy can clean my house.

Four down. Three to go. But only one more this year.
