I just delivered the HEART OF STONE manuscript to my editor.

Jeez. I feel like I should have something else to say after that. Something celebratory or squeeing or THANK GOD or something, but the flat statement is all I can work myself up to. It's *done*, and I don't have to *think* about it for at least several more weeks and probably more like a few months. Thank God. :) I think I'm going to work on Chance #4 some later this afternoon, and then tomorrow I'll start dealing with the PHOENIX revisions. I should probably make a printout of that manuscript today...

I got my Rogue poster from Tammy! Plus she sent a row of stickers with the other characters, so now I'm trying to decide if I should get the whole thing professionally framed, and if so, whether I should put the row of other characters below the Rogue poster to sort of tie it all in together-like. The only thing preventing me is I don't know how stickers might react to being framed, if the glue might get wonky over time.

I believe I'll put my shoes on and trundle down to the post office. If I were a really good person I'd be doing that with a pile of books to send out, but I'm not that good, so I'll just take the movie back. Gotta remember to pack books up this weekend, though, so I can get them sent out...

random tidbits

This has been quite a day in the writing world, at least for people I know. boymonster and ursulav have both acquired agents, at least 50% of them in a totally non-traditional (but very typical for them) way. *laughs* Congratulations to both of them!

My thinks to do list does not keep getting shorter as I get things done. It just changes. That's not fair. I want it to disappear! Maybe I need two lists. One for day to day stuff and one for the big stuff. *eyes the page layout*

Hn. Dinking around going from user to user, I've been reading some of jaylake's postings. He's got a couple of good questions over the last couple months, one being How do you define a writing "career"? What makes/would make you feel successful? and the other being What's your take on critique groups? Do you favor "flat groups" (all peers or near-peers), "tall pole groups" (one sponsoring pro among aspiring or new writers), or "tennis ladder groups" (multiple levels of aspiring and pro writing experience intermixed)? I shall make an attempt to address them in the next few days, 'cause why not? :)

I had 3 people compliment me on my hat while I was out walking today. Two of them were guys driving by in cars. One was in his late 20s and the other I didn't see, but sounded like a teenager. I'm pretty sure the woman was actually complimenting the hat, but given the shirt I'm wearing, I'm not *strictly* sure the other two were focused on the hat... :)

In "I wish I could say I was surprised" memeage...

You Are Miss Piggy

A total princess and diva, you're totally in charge - even if people don't know it.
You want to be loved, adored, and worshiped. And you won't settle for anything less.
You're going to be a total star, and you won't let any of the "little people" get in your way.
Just remember, piggy, never eat more than you can lift!

*wry look*
