arright.
Arright, my will is broken, or something. Met quota today and am at the beginning of a new chapter, so I think I'm just gonna leave it there. I'll write the next chapter on Indexus while we're traveling, and it's just easier to have the file all in one place. If, somehow, I manage to pull this together in the number of chapters I initially imagined, I have 3 chapters left. If not, I think I have 5.

I can do that.

wooh! You're alllllmost there! only 3 chapters left. that's easy! look how far you've come!
*cheer*

Do you ever get a little resentful at your readers, like a mom after thanksgiving dinner? What takes you months of hauling yourself up by your ears and sacrificing outings and so forth takes us only a few hours to read and enjoy?
Readers are a thankless people. (At least if readers are similar to me, who read Jane Eyre in one day when I was 10) And more especially when it's in a series. Generally I'm pleased when I come in late on a series, because, even while I'm saying "GRRR!! i coulnd have been enjoying this fantastic series for HOW long??" I'm also saying "Thank god it's not going to be like Harry Potter- 2 years between books!"
err all the same, I'm sorry we're generally not very appreciative of the time it takes to craft and hone your books.

Nope. :) I think the, "Write faster, write faster!" is pretty funny, actually, because I know how fast I'm writing and how far ahead of where the readers are *I* am. I remember reading about one writer who killed off her heroine's love interest and by the time it hit the shelves she'd written, I don't know, 1.5 or 2 more books in the series, so she was so far removed from the character's death that she was totally taken aback when people started screaming bloody murder. :)

I'm sorry we're generally not very appreciative of the time it takes to craft and hone your books.

You're forgiven! :)
