bits and pieces
Ted and I went into Cork today, mostly to see "Children of Men", which left us both kind of staggering. It's really very good, but it's *extremely* emotionally intense and *really* doesn't let up. I'm not entirely sure I'd have gone to see it if I'd known how relentless it was, but it was well worth watching. We hit Other Realms after that and picked up comic books, and staggered home to eat morally inferior food and goof around on the computer all night.

We are *nearly* finished with season one of Tru Calling, which aberdeen sent us ages and ages ago. Ted is deliberately torturing me and not letting me watch the last two episodes tonight. It is much, *much* better than we expected it to be, which is still surprising me. Jason Priestly is in the second half of the season, and I've never seen him in anything, and he's really *good*. The entire setup is good, the acting is good, the characters are well-developed, the episodes are consistent--I'm totally surprised. Must! Get! Second! Season!

And, in closing, Cutest! Sloth! Ever! countered by Naughty, naughty lemur! :)

My favorite scriptwriter for TV ever, Doris Egan, joined Tru Calling for the last bit of the first season (around Ep 16 or 17), and what there was of 2nd season.

She's got an LJ: tightropegirl. One of the older entries contains a bit of fleshing out of what she was hoping to do with the series in season 2.

(She's really the reason I watched Dark Angel, Smallville, Tru Calling, and now House...)

I noticed, in fact, that her name was on the credits. I thought she came in earlier than that, but maybe I just noticed her name the very first time it came up. *goes to check out her LJ*! Thanks! :)

I looked for you, but I think we were too late, or something. We got there around 4, and isn't Thursday one of your shorter days?
