then again...
Thinks to do today, revised:

- sign up for spanish classes (check)
- get cat food (check)
- discover an EXTREMELY HUGE CRUISE SHIP in at the harbor and spend an hour wandering around Cobh taking pictures (check)
- pick up a GN and say hello to madmiss (check)
- shop (not a chance in hell)
- write more (maybe)
- laundry (ahahahahahah)

It's been an incredibly nice day. I am faint from hunger. My legs are wibbly from walking so much. I resisted buying ice cream not ONCE, but TWICE, so I think I'm extra-spiffy. And I got four or five kitsnaps-worthy photos, an unexpected bonus to the day. There's another massive ship in tomorrow. I'm gonna go down and take pictures of it, too. And shop. Not at the same time. I better get up early tomorrow, too. :)

Oh mah lord Ah'm tahrd.

miles to Isengard: 271
ytd wordcount ('cause I'm not counting on writing more tonight): 302,600

You are extra super-duper spiffy!

And I'm sorry I forgot to remind you about the farmer's market! Last night did not go anything like according to plans. :)

I went! I forgot to mention that in my post! I was a little surprised, 'cause I got there at 1:30 and they were mostly closed up, and I didn't think they closed up til 3, but at least I went!

That ship is huge. It just boggles my mind how they remain upright.
kitmizkit on September 15th, 2006 05:59 pm (UTC)
Ooh! Ooh! Maybe tomorrow I'll give the next ship a good push and see if it falls over!

O.O

Tomorrow's ship (the Constellation) is supposed to be larger than the Jewel. She's the biggest I've seen. I'm agog over the idea of a larger one. :)

LOL.

I know there's a reason they float. And I know it's probably good science. And I don't get seasick, so there's not a bias on my part. But I wouldn't feel comfortable on board one. When it comes to liners I'm an atheist.

There are bigger ships
That's one of the Royal Caribbean cruise ships, and they have two classes of ship that are even bigger.

According to their web site, Jewel of the Seas carries 2501 passengers and displaces just a touch over 90,000 tons. Their biggest ship, Freedom of the Seas, carries over 3600 passengers and displaces 160,000 tons.

Imagine a small town pulling into port...

Sounds like a productive Friday! But seriously, shopping in Cork City on a Saturday?! Better had get up early or be trampled in the rush.
kitmizkit on September 15th, 2006 07:23 pm (UTC)
Oh, no, food shopping, not shop-shopping. Just gotta go to the supermarket. Not braving Cork tomorrow!

Shopping in Cork on a Saturday isn't so hard, just don't forget what a large brolly is really for ;)

Also the Mind Body Spirit Festival is in the City Hall and that's usually worth a look around.

Oh and before I forget and tell you after the fact. The Classic marvel figure collection magazine will have a mini figure of Rogue on the next issue and one of Gambit on issue 35.

Just thought you might like to know. :)
