i FWIMMED!
I actually got up this morning and swam. And then I walked home. I'm so proud of myself! :) I only did 1500 meters (my, the difference between a meter pool and a yard pool is significant, even if it's not much), but 1500's not too bad for my first time swimming in months. The pool was ungodly hot, really genuinely hotter than necessary even to keep little kids from turning blue, but it may be (if the people who were there are any indicator) that I'm the only person who actually swims, so while I'll ask about the pool temp, I might be the only person who cares that it's too hot for real swimming. I'm going to have to check it out a few times in the evenings to see if there are real swimmers there then. Maybe next year, if I keep up with the swimming, I'll try and see if I can get together a team of sorts, or something.

1500 yards of swimming made it clear I need to do some core strengthening stuff, too, 'cause it made my back ache. I know, swimming's supposed to be no-impact so it's GOOD for your back, but it doesn't work that way for me. So I'll have to see about pilates or yoga or *something*.

The weekend was very nice. Trundled up to Dublin, slept half of the train trip (it's official; trains, unlike any other moving vehicle, put me to sleep), worked on Chance #4 a bit, and hung out with the family in Blackrock, which was very nice. Train trip back home was v. early, but actually that turned out pretty well. I worked on Chance some more, then read a manuscript I'd been asked to do a cover quote on, and between those I got to Cork without falling asleep, and made it home in time to see Ted briefly before he had to go to work.

I don't seem to have enough brain to say anything else right now. Back to work.

. o O (What do you mean, _only_ 1500?) Yay for swimming!

So, is being asked to do a cover quote yet another sign of being a Famous Author?

This is one of those overachiever problems I have, apparently. :)

I guess so! :)

In the face of all that achievement I am fraid my main comment is "Where are you swimming?!" I love an overheated pool!

The new swimming pool in Cobh. It's like swimming in bath water. Bleh. :)

The one in Mayfield is fine and clean (or at least it was last year) and cheap but God! is it cold. Perhaps we should swap houses?

*whimpers* I might be tempted... :)

How much does it crack me up that your accomplished icon is Gambit kissing Rogue?

Yes, I'm random.

I thought that was pretty funny, too. :)
