ethnic food!

There’s an aisle at the local grocery store that is advertised as having Ethnic Food in it. Traditionally it was Indian and Chinese, and more recently, Mexican. But this week they have added AMERICAN Ethnic Food! Kraft mac&cheese! Canned pumpkin! Pop Tarts! CHEETOS!!

I have never been so happy (and dismayed) as to see Cheetos on the shelf. :)

We’re up to FIVE seedlings now. One is barely a speck of green curl in the dirt, but it’s there! And we only have eight planted, so more than half have sprouted! this is very exciting!

Today is my older nephew’s 12th birthday. Tonight we’ll go over for the Traditional Birthday Cake And Tree Decorating Party. :)

Hey, Harry Connolly‘s amazing WAY INTO CHAOS, the first of his Great Way trilogy, is now available for pre-order on Amazon! It has an AMAZING cover. It is an AMAZING book. (It also has a super nice cover quote, if I do say so myself. :))

It amuses me that 'American' is considered ethnic food, but then I remember you're in Ireland so it makes sense there.

But HEE. YAY, KRAFT DINNER. And lol Cheetos. XD

You get my Gardening icon for your seedlings news though. :D

The idea of Cheetos as "Ethnic Food" is hilarious. I can't decide if it's an awful ambassador for us, an accurate one, or both.

It's kind of like how no one thinks they have an accent, it's just the rest of the world that talks funny.

Enjoy your exotic Ethnic treats!

Happy birthday to your nephew. :)

It's both. It's definitely both. And when I showed Ted the bags of Cheetos I'd bought, he said, "YAY! oh no." So, yes. :)

"YAY! oh no."

*laugh* So true.

Also, I miss Ted. Give him a big hug for me, willya?

Yes.

Every time I leave Colorado, it startles me just how unhealthy the rest of the country is. Granted, I made this observation last weekend in a Wal-mart in the South, but I've noticed this to be the case in Nebraska and North Dakota as well. *sigh*

I will gladly send you my share of Cheetos :-)

Cover quotes are nice...next time!

I went vegan for six or seven years to control a health issue, and by then my digestive system had decided to comprehensively reject the merest hint of dairy. And what do I really really really miss with a horrible passion that sometimes wakes me up at night? Cheetos! Do eat some for me.

Well, now we know what American ethnic food is in your corner of Ireland.

I don't expect I'd've thought of Chee-tos, but Chee-tos are wonderful. I do wonder what your neighbors make of canned pumpkin, though.
