I have just hit the 200K mark for fiction words written this year. I have another 195K or so of actual contracted work due this year, not including revisions, and while visions of sugarplums dance in my head about achieving an extra 80K beyond that, this is the first time I've ever been dead on track halfway through the year.
So far this year I've:
- turned in 3 manuscripts (HEART OF STONE, COYOTE DREAMS, THE PHOENIX LAW) - revised 2 mss to editorial spec (HoS, tPL) - written 2 comic scripts - turned in 2 50 page proposals (HOUSE OF CARDS, STRONGBOX CHRONICLES #4)
In the remainder of the year, I'll be:
- turning in 2-3 manuscripts (HoC, THE QUEEN'S BASTARD, SBX4) - turning in 2-4 proposals (CAULDRON BORNE, HANDS OF FLAME, THE PRETENDER'S CROWN, SBX5) - revising 2-3 mss to editorial spec (CD, HoC, TQB) - writing 3+ comic scripts - writing synopses for 3-6 comic scripts
Right *now*, however, I'm going to go eat lunch, have a shower, walk the dog, clean the kitchen, make some graham crackers, clean the kitty litter, make some snack bars that Deirdre just gave me the recipe for that look OMG good, finish writing this chapter, watch some Gilmore Girls, have dinner that my incredibly wonderful husband made for me before he went to WORK, walk down to Cobh to walk home again with my husband who is at WORK, and maybe do a drawing.
