Sugar Wars: Day Rage Bot Murder Machine

Yesterday morning was extremely bad, but that was due to calorie deficit, not sugar withdrawals, per se. I don’t know what tonight’s utterly hideous temper was about, as I didn’t feel NEARLY as hungry as I did yesterday (I got trail mix. it helps). Bad goddamn mood, though. Exacerbated by knowing I wouldn’t actually feel any goddamn better if I ate half a pint of ice cream, but I didn’t quite get my steps in today and I was pretty goddamn sure if I left the house again I’d go get ice cream, so I didn’t. Grumpy, grumpy, grumpy.

Watching Supergirl helped, but I hope tomorrow is better. :p (Tomorrow I’m in Dublin and will no doubt have a hot chocolate, so by those standards it’ll be better. Of course, I could just be prolonging the agony by doing that, who knows. :p)

Calorie deficit one day doesn't magically go away overnight. I was at a fairly massive deficit yesterday, and it still impacted me this morning all the way through yoga. I didn't feel even remotely like myself until afterwards when I ate something like eight or nine meatballs at 10:15 in the morning. :P

When I'm working on serious calorie deficit, I found myself having real issues in that late period between lunch and dinner, and sometimes again right before bed.

Oddly a thing that worked for me was a high protein low carb snack. For me that meant beef jerky; I could usually get a pretty substantial snack for only 100 calories, and the high protein meant that it satisfied for a long time, and the low carb kept it from creating a blood sugar spike that would make things worse. That helps even out the grumpies, at least for me.

It might be that beef jerky is too salty for you (or heck, may not even be that easy to acquire on the island there? I dunno) but you might be able to make something or find an alternative that suits your palate better.
